N:Both these jigs were recorded in the early 1930's (one of the few banjo solo
N:recordings from that era) by Michael Gaffney who was born in 1896 in Mullaun,
N:Arigna, Co. Roscommon. He made a number of duet recordings in the 1920's and the
N:1930's with the legendary flute player, John McKenna (1880-1947) from nearby South
N:Co. Leitrim.
