N:Dance tunes in this Treoir issue are taken from the newly published Foinn Seisi\'un
N:(a collection of 116 traditional tunes arranged in 39 session sets). The book was
N:compiled to assist musicians in reaching consensus during sessions thus saving
N:valuable playing time while simultaneously keeping some of the older tunes in the
N:public domain and in the repertoire of younger musicians. All of the tunes in the
N:book have been arranged in groups of three similar to the reels and jig sets shown
N:here. Cooley's Reel and the Wise Maid are associated with noted box player Joe
N:Cooley (1924-1973) from Peterswell, Co. Galway who played them in his own inimitable
N:style.
