N:This tune appears as 'Dr Taylor's' in O'Neills Music of Irealnd, No. 1359 and in his
N:Dance Music of Irealnd, No. 613. Another setting of the tune under the title: "The
N:Bloom of Youth', can be found in O'Neill's Music of Ireland, No. 1215 and in his
N:Dance Music of Ireland, No. 613. The Leitrim flute player, John McKenna, recorded it
N:on the Decca label in 1934 as 'The Bloom of Youth'. Paddy Killoran recorded it in
N:the 1930's as 'Tansey's Favourite'. It also appears under this title in Breathnach's
N:Ceol Rince nah \'Eireann Uimh. 3. Alternative titles are the 'Downshire Reel', in
N:S\'eamus Gordon's collection, which is in Trinity College, Dublin, and Gardiner's
N:Favourite, in Pat McNulty's collection: 'The Dance Music of Ireland'. It seems to
N:have even older names, and, possibly Scottish origin, as it is included in Aloys
N:Fleischmann's collection: "Sources of Irish Traditional Music c. 1600-1855", under
N:the titles 'Countess of Sutherland Reel', and 'Glasgow Ladies Reel'.
