These tapes were collected during the tenure Séamus MacMathúna as the Timre Cheoil (Music Officer) of CCÉ. Many of these recordings were made by Séamus himself, while others were collected and donated to Comhaltas during this timer period.

I suppose it's part of the charm of a recording like this, but did the spoons player really have to park themselves RIGHT next to the recorder? Sigh..
