Micheal O Domhnaill was from the famous musical O Domhnaill family. His father Aodh (native of Rann na Feirste) sang and also collected songs. He collected them from his Aunt Neilli Ni Dhomhnail. He and his sister (Triona) were co founders of the Bothy Band. His Maighread is a well known traditional singer.

Rann un Feirste is not the artist!
Though it is probably where the song originates from.
