- 1,000 open-reel 1/4" audio tapes, largely field recordings, with accompanying labels and notes, held at Cultúrlann na hÉireann. These tapes were collected during the tenure Séamus MacMathúna as the Timre Cheoil (Music Officer) of CCÉ. Many of these recordings were made by Séamus himself, while others were collected and donated to Comhaltas during this timer period.

This is MOST curious! The first tune is most definitely the composition "Bill McEvoy's #1" by Sean Ryan. For it to show up on a 78 rpm recording is shocking, to say the least, unless Mr. Redican (or one of his associates) made it on a very old wax recording device despite the availability of more modern recording equipment. If this recording is as old as it sounds, however, then Larry Redican is playing a Sean Ryan tune BEFORE IT COULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN!!!!Wow.
